Student Responsibilities and Expectations

These policies must be reviewed and signed, prior to the first class, by parents and students in or above 3rd grade.

 

1.      Treat teachers, parents, other students, and our host facility/staff courteously and with respect at all times.

 

2.      Remain within the designated co-op boundaries of the church. Remain on campus during co-op hours unless leaving for the day.

 

3.      Be in class, in the lunchroom, or in study hall at all times while at co-op. Do not loiter in the hallways, the bathrooms, or the parking lot. Empty classrooms, the stairwells, or areas outside designated co-op areas are off limits, unless you are traveling to or from class or exiting the building at the end of the day or in an emergency.

 

4.      Do not run or talk loudly while walking to and from your classes.

 

5.      All students attending a class that “grades” must maintain a 70% or above; please review teacher’s classroom policy, be in class on time, and be prepared to learn and participate. Have completed assignments, sharpened pencils or pens, notebooks and paper, and all required books and materials and maintain an attentive posture (NO slouching, feet on the furniture, head on the desk, etc.). Excessive tardies and/or unexcused absences, as defined in teacher’s classroom policy, shall be viewed as a violation and is subject to co-op disciplinary procedures.

 

6.      Eat only in the designated lunch areas during designated lunch periods. Eating is not permitted in the hallways, bathrooms, or classrooms at any time, unless scheduled by a teacher. Clean up after yourself at the end of the lunch period.  High school students are to remain in either lunch room to eat.  Only those students in high school (9th – 12th) will be allowed to eat in the high school lunch room.  Any exceptions to this rule must be Board approved.

 

7.      Do not chew gum at any time during co-op hours.

 

8.      Come to study hall prepared to study. When in study hall, be quiet and courteous of other students completing their work….NO CHATTING! Students must adhere to study hall policies; failure to do so will result in loss of this privilege.

 

9.      No electronic devices, including cell phones, may be used during co-op hours. Laptop computers are to be used for co-op class work completion only (not as an entertainment or music source); any other use will result in loss of privilege.

 

10.   No weapons, illegal drugs, or alcohol are permitted on the premises.

 

11.   Dress Code and Conduct Code:

·      Dress conservatively and in good taste.

·      Clothing should be tidy, without holes, tatters or patches.

·      Skirts and shorts must be at least knee length even if leggings are worn underneath.

·      Halter-tops, tank tops, spaghetti straps, and visible cleavage are not allowed.  As a guide, the neckline of a person’s shirt should not be lower than that person’s hand width below the top of their sternum.

·      Bare midriff, front or back, is unacceptable.

·      Underclothing should not be visible at any time.

·      Clothing may not have inappropriate messages or graphics.

·      Shoes and shirts are required at all times.

·      Hats or other head coverings, except hair accessories worn by girls may not be worn inside the building.

·      Students’ eyes must be clearly seen at all times.

·      Unnatural hair color or extreme spikes are unacceptable.

·      No sensational, vulgar, inappropriate or otherwise distracting jewelry or accessories may be worn.

·      No visible tattoos or visible piercing, other than girls’ ears, are allowed.

·      Inappropriate physical affection and/or aggression will not be tolerated.

·      Foul language and/or bullying will not be tolerated.

 

It is the responsibility of parents to adhere to the Dress Code and Conduct Code, and to enforce them with their children. Any questions regarding interpretation of or compliance with the Dress Code, Conduct Code or these policies will be resolved by the Board of Directors.

 

I understand that failure to comply with these policies will jeopardize my privilege to participate in Fellowship Co-op. The Fellowship Board reserves the right to deny participation to any family or student.
